The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has charged members of Nigeria Army Officers’ Wives Association(NAOWA) to remain committed to goals and objectives of the Association and contribute immensely to the socio economic development of Nigeria.

COAS gave the charge today Thursday 29 July 2021 during a courtesy visit by the President NAOWA at Army Headquarters, Abuja.
He reiterated that as a body which has unity and charity as its motto, they should focus on charity and human development in Army barracks communities and its environs. He assured NAOWA members of his support towards achieving their goals and thanked them for participating actively during the just concluded Nigerian Army Day Celebrations (NADCEL) 2021.

Earlier in her remarks, the President NAOWA, Mrs Salamatu Faruk Yahaya while congratulating COAS on his appointment appreciated the kind gestures of the COAS during NADCEL 2021 adding that the Association was able to reach out to 284 widows across formations and units of the Nigeria Army.
According to her, over 5000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) received relieve materials during the celebration.

Mrs Yahaya further solicited the support of COAS towards completion of the NAOWA WELLNESS CENTRE which was initiated by her predecessor, Mrs Fati Attahiru
