NAOWA National President delivering her opening remarks during the NAOWA general meeting at Command Officer’s Mess AbujaThe National President Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) and wife of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Mrs  Umma-Kalsum Tukur Buratai enjoined members to maintain high level of peace and discipline both in and outside their homes to ensure a progressive society.

She made the assertion at the general meeting of the association held recently at Command Officers Mess 1 Asokoro Abuja.

In her opening remark, Mrs Buratai admonished NAOWA members on discipline and peace in their homes which she said to be the bedrock for sustainable development and progress. She advised women to support their husbands in all their daily activities which will go a long way to leverage on their work loads. She also hemp on the need to contribute towards initiating a good sense of reasoning that could reflect in command responsibility and quality service delivery.

While calling on members to have hope and be proud of their husbands irrespective of his rank, the NAOWA boss reminded members that the association is a charitable Organization meant to touch the lives of the less privileged in the society. She enjoined all to perform their obligatory roles by contributing for the sustenance of the Association. Mrs Buratai further enumerated some achievements made so far by NAOWA which included renovation of NAOWA Nursery, Primary and secondary schools,donation of relief materials to Widows, patients, orphanage Homes and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)Camp amongst others.

The meeting recorded a large turn-out of members from all the Units and formations across the country.
