In meeting with its objectives, the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) recently commissioned two solar boreholes and donated millions worth of Hospital equipment at Mutum Biyu community of Gassol Local Government of Taraba state. The association also renovated and furnshed three blocks of classrooms and a laboratory.

Commissioning the project, the National President NAOWA Mrs Umman Kalsum Tukur Buratai said the gesture was part of an effort of the association to support the government in providing quality affordable health, basic education and portable drinking water for rural communities. ‘ water is life and education is the weapon that can be used to change the society’ she said.
Represented by Mrs Habiba Adams, the NAOWA bus used the ocassion to warn youths of the community to stay away from drugs, sexual abuse and being used to torment violence. She called on the community to make good use of the facilities and to imbibe maintenance culture.

The Emir of Mutum Biyu , the principal Mutum Biyu community Day secondary school and the Medical Director Mutum Biyu Reference Hospital were unanimously in applouding the NAOWA gesture. They said the help from NAOWA came at the time when the community was in dare need. They called on well meaning individuals to immulate the NAOWA gesture.
NAOWA also visited patients on admission and donated charity gift items to the beneficiaries.
