NAOWA ADVOCATES FOR FEMALE BOUNDING …. As President NAOWA visits wife of the Oyo State Governor

The President Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) Mrs Salamatu Faruk Yahaya has advocated for female bounding and solidarity. The President NAOWA made the statement when she paid a courtesy visit to the Wife of Oyo State Governor at her office in Ibadan.

The NAOWA President expressed appreciation to the First Lady for her audience, where she acknowledged that the visit to the First Lady is meant to enhance civil military relationship in Oyo state. She further said that NAOWA mission in Ibadan is to carry out humanitarian activities and also commission projects that are intended to develop the skills of youths and women in the barracks and beyond.

Mrs Salamatu Faruk Yahaya noted that NAOWA is on the assignment of creating capacity building programs for women as well as advocacy for the protection of women rights. She informed the First Lady that NAOWA is committed to continue reaching out to less privileged within and outside the barracks community.

In her remarks, Mrs Tamunominini Makinde applauded NAOWA’s commitments for reaching out to the less privileged within and outside the barrack community. She said NAOWA humanitarian gesture would go a long way adding value to the lives of those in the barracks and their host communities.

Highlight of the event include presentation of NAOWA attires to the First Lady, as the symbol of affirmation of the first Lady’s position of Patron 1 in the 2 Division NAOWA Chapter as prescribed in the Association’s Constitution. Others are signing of visitor’s Book, presentation of souvenirs and group photograph.
