NAOWA TRAIN IDPs DONATE RELIEF MATERIALS IN MAIDUGURI

About 225 internal Displaced Persons (IDP) have benefited from the NAOWA Empowerment Initiative Programme organised by the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) at Maimalari Cantonment, Borno State.

The National President Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, Mrs Umma-Kalsum Buratai who led a delegation of other executive members to the graduation ceremony made this disclosure while making donation of empowerment equipment (Starter Packs) and certificates to the beneficiaries.
She revealed that the 225 IDPs were trained in catering services, beats making, tie/dye, cosmetology, hairdressing, vulcanizing, Generator set repairs and POP/ Paint making amongst others.
Mrs Buratai stated that the initiative was critical particularly to those that are preparing to return to their Librated communities, she urged the beneficiaries to effectively utilize the skills they have acquired as it would go a long way in helping to rejuvenate their Economy, and boost commercial activities in rural communities.
Commissioning a newly built NAOWA Nursery school the NAOWA Boss noted that Education is a lifelong pursuit for all young people which will help in preparing them to meet future challenges. She stressed that the the association is always in the forefront of providing quality education and takes the lead in promoting Child Education while at the same time upholding its fine tradition of Charity Outreach to the needy in society.
At the ground breaking ceremony of NAOWA College , She observed that building a new NAOWA College in Maiduguri is a milestone in the development of Education in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Speaking earlier President NAOWA 7 Division Chapter, Barr Appolonia Ezugwu in her welcome address encouraged parents to take advantage of the new NAWOA Nursery School. She noted that the feat to conceiving such a lofty idea for the establishment of NAOWA schools is not only historic but also a legacy unprecedented in the history of the association
Also speaking, the special guest of Honour who is the wife of the Governor of Borno state, Hajia Nana Kashim Shettima commended NAOWA for being Courageous in supporting their spouses especially those in the theatre of Operation Lafiya Dole. She noted that, Education is a huge investment towards salvaging the future of the young and the country at large.
At Bakassi IDP Camp, NAOWA donated food items, beverages and clothing materials for about four thousand displaced persons.
