The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) has donated medical equipment worth huge sum of money to Mararaba hospital to enhance medical services in the hospital.The NAOWA National president, Mrs Umma Buratai, made the donation recently as part of activities lined up for the Nigerian army Day Celebration 2017.
Represented by Mrs Zainab Garba, the NAOWA President disclosed that the gesture was part of her organisation’s charity outreach to cushion the effect of inadequate medical facilities in some hospitals. She stated that, the association also reached out to other hospitals, orphanage homes and free community services. Mrs Buratai urged the hospital management to make good use of the equipment and imbibe maintenance culture in deployment of the equipment.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, the Medical Director, Dr Nzute Malachy expressed happiness with the gesture saying that God has answered the prayers of the hospital management. He said the equipment and donation from NAOWA was timely and came when the hospital was in daring need of them. He pledged to make good use of the equipment bearing in mind their significance.
The items donated were stretchers, wheel chairs, stethoscopes, BP apparatus and some sanitary items. Some relieve materials were also donated to patience on hospital admission.
