The Medical Director, Dutse General Hospital Jigawa State, Dr Abbas Garba Ya,u has held Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association(NAOWA) in high esteem for its philanthropic programmes aimed at improving the lives of the less-privileged in the society. This was revealed recently during NAOWA charity visit to Dutse General Hospital as part of the programme to commemorate the Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference 2015 held in Dutse the Jigawa the State Capital
The MD said the hospital offers free medical care to the people who cannot afford hospital bills. He added that the subvention allotted to the hospital cannot carter for the number of people who needed medical attention saying that it is only when non-governmental organizations like NAOWA donate food and medical items that the hospital will be able to reach out to many people in need.
Dr Ya,u lauded NAOWA for choosing the General Hospital Dutse as her focal point in their visit saying that the patients would continued to pray for NAOWA to succeed in its activities.
Speaking earlier, the National President of NAOWA Mrs Umma-kalsum Tukur Buratai disclosed that the purpose of the visit was to boost the morale of the less-privileged in the hospital. She further stated that NAOWA has positively changed the lives of many people through its philanthropic activities, adding that they were at the hospital to touch the lives of the needy through its charity programme. The NAOWA Boss implored the nurses to handle the children with the fear of Allah, patience and love. She emphasized that God would definitely reward them in abundance for the work they are doing. Mrs Buratai restated that the exercise was informed by the desire to identify with the needy in the society.
